Williams Recycling

22-02-2008
It is pleasing to report that the volume of recycling has increased quite considerably since manning of the Williams Refuse Site commenced 12 months ago.

Council has been negotiating with the contractors Avon Waste regarding a more frequent service and also recycling of plastic bottles (PET) which can now be deposited with glass and newspaper in the bins (see associated article which explains the meaning of PET). Avon Waste will now be emptying the recycling bins on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month which will hopefully result in a tidier recycling depot. Council will continue to monitor the recycling depot to ensure that materials are not building up and to this end the co-operation of residents would be appreciated in placing recyclables in the proper bins.
