Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades
Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades play a vital role in protecting property and life in rural Australia. Williams has eight volunteer brigades covering the district. All brigades welcome new volunteer members. Contact details for the various brigades are available from the Council Office or from the following officers.

During the summer months harvest and vehicle movement bans are determined by the Bush Fire Brigades, these are broadcast over local radio stations.

Williams Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service
The Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, located on Brooking Street, is responsible for protection of the Williams townsite and attending traffic accidents in the district. They are available for protective burning of townsite blocks, contact the secretary for further details.

Williams St John Ambulance Sub-Centre
Providing a vital ongoing service to the community. The sub-centre is always looking for volunteers to join their very rewarding group. Any interested persons are encouraged to contact the centre. Memberships can be paid at the Shire Office.
