Cemeteries

Williams has two cemeteries, at Williams and Marling. The current Williams Cemetery is located some 2kms south east of the town and was commissioned in 1914.

The Marling Cemetery, formerly a private cemetery provided by the Cowcher family, is located 20kms west of Williams on the Pinjarra-Williams Road.

Cemetery records for both cemeteries can be viewed at the Shire Office.

Niche Walls

The Williams Cemetery offers two choices, a Brick Niche Wall at the front of the Cemetery, and the newer Granite Niche Wall at the back of the Cemetery. 

For further information regarding placement of ashes in a Niche Wall please contact the Shire Office. Plaques are to be privately arranged prior to placement of ashes in the wall.

Application for Grant of Right of Burial

A Grant of Right of Burial can be purchased for each available cemetery plot or niche, and is issued for a period of 25 years.

It gives the purchaser ('grant holder' or 'grantee') the right to arrange burials, place cremated remains and apply for the erection of monumental work on the site.
